More about me - Stout;
I have lived with my Mommy and Daddy for 13 years now! I can't believe it has been that long, it feels like just yesterday they found me at the Atlanta Humane Society in run #4. I spend about 7 days there until my Mommy found me there. I was only about 1 year old when a nice young couple found me on the streets of Atlanta eating out of a trash can (I just can't believe I would do that, but I guess I was hungry!)and they took me to the Atlanta Humane Society hoping that my people would find me. They never came to for me, but that is OK because I am so much better off with my Mommy and Daddy. I also have a brother named Yoda, I like him even though he annoys me sometimes. I am so lucky to have such a loving family, including NINE human cousins who all love to play with me and for me to do all of my tricks. I know how to roll over, dance, hold a treat on my nose and catch it in the air, crawl and spin in circles! I love to do my 'Stout Trick Show' for all the kids when they come to visit. :-) I hope I will be able to show all of you my trick show one day!
More about me - Yoda;

Exactly one year after my Mommy and Daddy found my brother Stout at the Atlanta Humane Society they went there for a visit. They didn't go there looking for another dog that day, but then they saw me! I was so cute and had such funny big floppy ears, that they could not pass me up, so I went home with them! That was 12 years ago. I made my way to the Atlanta Humane Society on a snowy and very icy day in late January. It was SO COLD I had ice-cycles on my ears and my tail when the nice men from Fulton County Animal Control found me. They picked me up off the street and put me in the cab of the truck with them since I was so cold. Those nice men took me to the humane society and later that afternoon my Mommy and Daddy found me, or should I say I found them! After they decided they were going to take me home, I had to stay at the animal hospital for about 9 days before I could leave. I was sick and could not be around my brother Stout, or he would get sick too. Mommy, Daddy and Stout prepared the house for a puppy (ME!) and then they came to pick me up. The first day I was home I didn't listen very well and got into LOTS of trouble, I even stood on the coffee table, Mommy wasn't so happy about that. I soon went to obedience classes and learned alot, and now I am a good dog. I am so lucky to live with my family, they all love me so much. My Nona (that is Grandma in Italian) even lives at a big lake and I love to visit her there. Me and my brother jump into the lake to fetch sticks and we love to ride on the boat. We are always sure to be safe and wear our life vests!
Here is a painting of us at the lake. Daddy had it made for Mommy for her birthday a few years ago and she loves it! You will meet the lady who painted it during Reading Month, her name is Michelle Nelson-Schmidt.

Your website is so cute. You two are so cute. Can you come to school one day? What do you think about a pet day when everyone brings their pet to school?

Dear Bridge Students -
DeleteThank you so much for writing to us! We are so excited that you are the very first :-)
Thank you for the compliment... our Mommy thinks we are very cute as well! Did you know that we are both Pitbulls? Well I, Stout, am part Pitbull and my Brother Yoda is a full Pitbull. See... people think we are scary, but we are really just sweet dogs that LOVE people!
We really hope that we will be able to visit you one day. I think that Yoda will get himself too excited though, so maybe Mommy will leave him at Wag A Lot that day. Me ont he other hand, Stout, I am a certified reading dog, just like your friend Max who comes to school with Ms. Betts. So, maybe we can work it out for me to come to school one day.
Our Mommy loves the idea of a Pet Day at school, but we would have to be sure that all the pets would get along and everyone would be safe. It might be hard to do :-/
Thanks again for writing to us!
Let us know if you have any more questions and we will be sure to answer them!
Hugs and Licks,
Stout and Yoda
